Amika Vegan Products List

Amika has vegan options. They provide you with all your hair care needs. Shampoo, Conditioners, and hair styling products. They even have a variety of hair tools such as their hair curlers, hair dryers, and thermal brushes! The products that are NOT vegan contain either, hydrolyzed keratin (wool), beeswax, or carmine. You may notice Amika labels their products as vegetarian instead of vegan. This is because they are not certified vegan but they do request to their manufacturers to use plant-based ingredients whenever possible. So if it is labeled vegetarian, they are meaning to tell you it is vegan. Also, I’m not sure if they have updated their ingredients lists on some of their products or not but I’ve reached out to them twice with different questions pertaining to certain products and received the same answer:

“We don’t certify our products as vegan, which is why they’re listed as vegetarian! Amika always requests that our manufacturers use plant-based ingredients whenever possible. The only products that contain animal-sourced ingredients are our Kure Collection (which contains hydrolyzed keratin, derived from ethically-sourced sheep’s wool) and our Heist molding blend (which contains lanolin wax, also derived from ethically-sourced sheep’s wool)!”

So we know that the Kure Collection and Heist Molding Blend are not vegan BUT on their website, I noticed a few products contained beeswax and carmine. I’m not sure if they have recently changed their formulas on those products and just haven’t updated the ingredients lists or they just don’t realize they still have products that are NOT vegan! With that being said, I’ve carefully read every ingredient for each product listed below. Those products are in fact vegan. The ones that I’m not sure of because they haven’t been clear on their ingredients and status of those products, I’ll be putting them in the Grey Area List below! I’ll keep you updated when I receive a more accurate answer to the Grey Area products!
